It was produced in South Korea by the World Musical Instrument Company. The SZ520QM features a quilted maple top with binding on a mahogany body mated to a set-in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding. Components include a Gibraltar III fixed bridge with staggered through-body string routing and dual humbucking pickups mounted in pickup rings. The initial models had Ibanez SZ pickups; for 2005 these were replaced by Seymour Duncan designed Duncan/Ibanez pickups specially made for the series. After 2007 all SZ models were discontinued in favor of the SZR520 and SZR720.
