C. 1070-713 BC – Third Intermediate Period A double sided Eye of Horus amulet with incised detail and complete with suspension loop The Eye of Horus amulet is also known as Uzat or ‘Wedjat’, meaning “Whole One”. It is a symbol of protection and was used to deflect evil, as well as believed to have healing powers. The Uzat eye’s represent the two eye’s of Horus as he was a sun and moon deity therefore, his right eye was the sun, and the left was the moon. Intact with a patchy glaze and good colour with nice detail. A certificate of authenticity will accompany this item. 21mm length Provenance; The seller of this lot hereby guarantees that this object was obtained legally.
